Barbara Pivnicka

Secretary & Executive Officer, San Francisco Consular Corps

Barbara Pivnicka serves as President and CEO of the San Francisco Global Trade Council, which promotes international trade opportunities, global alliances and technology transfer initiatives, and serves on the Boards of two technology companies.

 Barbara was Director of Regional Marketing for Deloitte. In 2001, she was appointed Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic, the first woman in the US to hold the post. She currently serves as Executive Officer of the San Francisco Consular Corps, the third largest diplomatic community in the United States. 

 She is a former Governor of the Commonwealth Club and currently is an Advisory Board member. She is an Advisor to of San Francisco State University’s Graduate School of International Studies, and an “Ambassador” of the Start Up in Residence (STIR) program, sponsored by the San Francisco Mayor’s Office. A graduate of Leadership San Francisco, she served on the Advisory Council of the Commission on the Status of Women and as a Director of Girl Scouts, Northern California Chapter.     

Barbara grew up in Santa Barbara, California and resides with her husband in Woodside, in the heart of Silicon Valley.
