VC and Founder — Shatter Fund
Shelly is one boundary breaking woman. She is a venture capitalist who works at the intersection of technology, innovation and policy, with a focus on investing in female led and founded Technology startups in Cybersecurity, Fintech, Ed Tech and Digital Health. After founding and running her own companies and various Technology products, Shelly made the leap from entrepreneur to VC to have a greater impact on the emerging market of female entrepreneurs, and to enable female founders to become 100% participants in the innovation economy.
Shelly was appointed to the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) by the Obama Administration and served as Vice Chair of the Women in Public Service Project started by Secretary Hillary Clinton while at the State Department. She also served as a National Co-Chair for Technology for Barack Obama’s 2012 Campaign with Marc Benioff and Reid Hastings. Shelly has been named one of the Top 20 influential Indian women by the Economic Times of India, and was named to the Forbes ‘40 women to watch over 40’ list in 2015.
Shelly is a staunch advocate for STEM education for women and girls and holds an MS in Management Information Systems and a BS in in Management Information Systems from the University of Maryland. She resides in the Bay Area with her husband and two children.
