Alexandrea Alphonso

Program Manager, Google

A senior program manager at Google, Alexandrea is currently responsible for helping teams craft, design, and implement support and care experiences for users across all of Google’s consumer products. In this role, she uniquely drives collaboration and partnerships on high-impact design sprints and leads teams through the design sprint methodology to arrive at more user-centric support experiences. Alexandrea has fundamentally changed the way the organization pushes for support innovation and problem solving. Whether it be leading strategy workshops to help align on aspirational visions for support, optimizing for the user experience, or developing new user care approaches in emerging markets, Alexandrea has proven to be a thought leader in the consumer tech space.

At Google, Alexandrea extends and volunteers her time regularly to other teams as a design sprint master, in a capacity known as 20% time. As part of a small, exclusive collective at Google, she seeks out opportunities that allow her to push for design evangelism. Alexandrea is responsible for partnering with our University Programs & Outreach team to co-create and facilitate a design thinking workshop called the Innovation Channel. This event targets college technical and nontechnical students across North America. In less than a year the workshop has scaled to 7 major cities reaching close to 400 students and counting.

Outside of Google, Alexandrea combines her passion for technology and community in the role of Head of Partnerships for Black Tech Women. Black Tech Women was created in 2017 on the premise that an engaged and supported community is key to advancing black women in the technology ecosystem. Over the last two years, the organization has grown to a global member base of +3000 black women professionals across technology companies, startups, and venture capital firms. In this role, Alexandrea is responsible for collaborating with key organizations and businesses to help grow, develop, and enhance the lives of black women in tech.

Alexandrea’s passions extend well beyond the corporate space. To exercise her passions of creativity and wellness, she is a host and co-contributor to a local Bay Area sports podcast, The Fan Factive Five, and she’s also a former Corepower Yoga instructor who know teaches live yoga class online through Charlotte’s Yoga School.
